Replaceing Kate Sheppard

Kia ora. If I was chose the next bank note to replace Kate Sheppard
on the 10 dollar note, I would be creating the 8 addition. I would chose
Dame Whina Cooper who dedicated her life fighting for Maori land rights
and better living conditions. She started a group and then marched from
the far far north to Parliament in Wellington to support her cause.
What made her famous was being 79 years old when she did this, she was
a female leader and the crowd grew and grew as they walked to Wellington.
How many 79 year olds could do that to day do you think. She must of been
super duper fit.

SLJ first post

Date:20.12.2019
Kia ora.

These would be my three superpowers. I would use my superpowers in rugby. I have always said that I want to be better than Richie Mccaw and now I can be. Because I have superpowers so my superpowers would be most accurate kicker in the team. The other two superpowers that I would like to have is strongest in the team and fitisset in the team wouldn't it be cool to be the fitisset in the team. My favorite position is number seven. I play that number at my old rugby club. I hope you enjoyed my blog.

Steam challenge

Kia ora, in Te Ngahere we did a STEAM challenge it was super fun and a little bit challenging we got into groups of 3 or 2. We only had two sheets of newspaper and 30 centimeters of cellotape. I learnt that your base for the tower has to be big. My group was Jorjah and Isabella-paige. In our group we worked well together and we each got a turn to work on the tower. What I did well was work as a team member and collaborate as a team and everyone had an idea and we were having fun as well working.

What I could do better is plan more and think of more ideas.I think if we would have thought a bit more than just building it straight away. What could have worked better?

Maths games

On Monday Te Ngahere have been learning how to play matching the cards. The first thing we had to do was find a group of four, then you had to wait until Whaea Chrissy said we could go. We had to notice what cards would make a group of four.

The challenging part was not being able to talk. You are also not allowed to point to what card you need. On the cards there are dots, fractions, circles and blocks that are shaded to the right fraction. My challenge was not being able to talk and show them what card I wanted. The point of the game is match the right cards. What I did well was I tried and I made a set of four. What I could do better next time is trying not to talk all the time.

Ki O'Rahi

Kia Ora bloggers, in the past few day we have been training for Ki O'Rahi, Ki O'Rahi is a sport that you play you can be keoma or taniwha. Taniwha is when you touch the pou and bank points and keoma is when you are ripping tags and throw the ball at the pou. The reason I like this game is because it is fun and easy to play. What I learnt from this game is to share and always know what the other team is going to do so that you can win the game. On Wednesday this week we are going for a tournament for Ki O.Rahi I can’t wait. Thanks for reading my blog post.

Athletics

Kia ora my name is Kai and I go to Paihia School. This term in Te Ngahere we have been training for athletics. The different things we have to practise are high jump, long jump, relays, shot put and discus. For athletics training we were put in five groups. I am in group two. My favorite thing to do in athletics is high jump. What is your favorite thing in athletics? What I think I did well was listening and participating in all the activities.

Chuck Close Art

On Tuesday we did Chuck Close art we all got given a square.
The square had grids on them and there was white pieces on it
and gray pieces on it you colour the white pieces light colours
and the gray dark colours. So the white pieces are put in the
right place to look like someone or something. The people we
did was Harry Potter, Batman and Frankenstein. It was really
fun. I did Frankenstein. Before we used colour black and white.
Here are some photos of our black and white art.
